When should my child see a pediatric cardiologist?
Reasons to see a pediatric cardiologist include: a murmur your pediatrician wants checked, chest pain during exercise, fainting (especially during activity), palpitations or an irregular heartbeat, bluish lips or nails, rapid breathing or poor feeding in an infant, a family history of heart muscle disease or sudden cardiac death, and follow-up after a heart surgery or procedure. When in doubt, a single consultation can put your mind at ease.
