What warning signs should prompt an urgent cardiac review?
Seek prompt assessment if your child has: blue lips or tongue (cyanosis), fast or laboured breathing at rest, poor feeding with sweating in a baby, fainting during activity, chest pain with exercise, palpitations that don’t settle, or unexplained poor weight gain with breathlessness. These can be signs of a heart problem needing urgent evaluation — when in doubt, get checked the same day.
