What are the warning signs of Kawasaki disease?
Kawasaki disease is an inflammatory condition that mainly affects children under five and can involve the heart’s blood vessels. Signs include fever lasting more than five days, red eyes, a rash, red cracked lips or a “strawberry” tongue, swollen hands or feet, and swollen neck glands. If you notice this combination, see a doctor promptly — early treatment greatly protects the heart.
